Way too late but my biggest problem with the game comes from D3 development when they threw the game in trash and went a new direction with cooldowns, effects on hit etc which completely changed the base mechanics of the game.

Your character either massively explodes all over the place or if no monsters - doesn't even work cause you so not hit enough. This makes it weird imo, my characters strength and functionality doesn't lie in the actual character but in the surroundings.

It also made balance 100% dependent on density since dmg, cooldowns and other effects trigger based on hits kills etc. This 7n turn means that no changes on classes but small tweaks on density changes the entire game since a BIG portion of how the characters actually functions comes from how many monsters they kill/hit.

Added to this are the vast amount of dmg sources that makes it impossible for the developers to even have a remote chance to overview and somewhat be in control over balance.

And then again, a small adjustment in density will overthrow all work made on skill balance.



With that said I have enjoyed the game pve playing in dense areas where my character works, and semi-happily discovered that pvp zone is dense as hell. Pvp duels has the tactics in their builds and when to pop which skill but the gameplay itself is kind of mindless unfortunately. On a public PK run around and kill it has been somewhat fun but more legit duels I'm not a fan of.

In an ideal world I would have preferred a simpler game with less stats available and character functionality being the same regardless if I fight 5000 spiders or 1 zombie.

i really wanted to love it, and i tried so hard for the first month. but if you eat a piece of dog shit, no matter how hard you try to tell yourself otherwise, it's going to taste like dog shit. i dont know how the apologists continue to take bite after bite and swallow with a smile on their faces

Agreed. I want D4 to be as good as possible, bit it just isnt.

I am back at D2R for over a month now and its an absolute blast. Itemization is still so great there, it never ever gets boring or old. I can farm the same areas over and over again without getting bored for a second.

When I log on to D4 on the other hand, just to find the same boring ass shit all the time, have to wait for my stupid ressource to refill, have to use a skill I dont wanna use to refill it, have to wait for a cool down to go down, then thats just stinky farts gameplay. Not fun at all.
