Currently I think D4 is the best ARPG by a landslide and still has much room for improvement.

However I think Lost Ark has a better endgame and would be better than D4 if it wasn't completely ruined by P2W and insanely long/grindy/boring horizontal content.

Maybe PoE 2 has a chance to overcome D4 and I'll try it but quite frankly I doubt it.
I assume they will be keeping up with the bloat, P2W stashes, and Math of Exile spreadsheet shenanigans.
It will be nowhere near as polished of a game either.

I never felt like poe catered to SSF players but at least they gave us our own ladder.

Problem is they really try hard to force you to buy tabs and that includes you hitting major walls if you don't engage with trading.

Catering to SSF players would result in game mechanics being designed around SSF.
(Bosses/content that you can only do solo, account bound items, ect.)

Keeping SSF players on standard when they don't want to be there is not a good idea.
It doesn't fracture or negatively impact the game by giving SSF players there own servers because in all likely-hood they were going to quit or even worse: grief.
