Right here. Your general statement

So I asked you how the sorc was more balanced now than before?

* don’t want you to interpret me as attacking you. I wanted balance changes. I personally abhor the fact that most ppl felt the need to exploit things like aspect of control to get by. I shelved the bugged aspects when I learned about them because I want to play organically. However, they punished my category of player the most. I wanted the solo grind as part of my diablo experience. It feels almost pointless to boost imo but I believe other ppl should be able to do things like that if they so choose. They just went too far with all the flat nerfing.

** they fixed and addressed certain issues but also caused more in the process. I hope this bit helps clarify my stance to you. I bet we can agree on this

Balance changes doesn't mean anything other than what it says. Changes. It doesn't say that any class is more or less balanced.

People obsess too much on completing every bit of available content in a seasonal game...

Why does it matter? Try to get as far as you can in the constraints that you can.

Sounds like it's mostly about you folks.

I play sorc, we actually got a decent buff other than the obvious bug you were attempting to exploit.

Then why call it balance changes and not just say "We are making changes".

I have a weird feeling they are pre-balancing gear to drop another tier after Ancestral on us at some point. The massive gear nerfs paired with the 60/80 level caps, leaves a huge gap for 80-100 gear to slide right in at some point.
Would not be surprised if they are currently closed testing such gear, so in their closed beta all these gear nerfs made sense having access to another tier of gear. But on the live side without that next tier of gear, it's going to be rough to do "pinnacle content" for a while.

Why are you asking me? Ask them. Y'all will likely be wrong again about the balance as you usually are.

That whole gear cap stuff is odd in the first place, they didn't understand the problem to begin with.

The item level requirement should only be affected by how powerful the item is not what Level character you essentially dropped it on.

I've realized you're one of those guys that are simply a contrarian. Regardless of the position of the argument you take the opposite.

That's just rumormongering. There is no upper tier.

If you played d2, almost everything build-worthy had a level req of 70 or lower.

There are some rumors based on a datamine of a wt5 existing, but it's just based off an old placeholder asset for a wt5 earlier in development (like 1 year+).

Wt5 eventually became wt4, as we know it.

That's not a bad thing. Some people like hitting the level cap as fast as they can, others don't.

I still see it as planned content, especially after the way things lined up in this patch. It's just too much coincidence that they min-capped the capstones at 40 for 40-60 gear drops, then 60 for 60-80 gear drops. Following suit, this would pave the way to slot a wt5 capstone at 80 for 80-100 gear.
(yes I am aware they are removing this requirement, but can't ignore that it was still planned/brought to prod. in the first place) All that said, it probably wont be until S4/5 that we see it drop if/when it does.

Honestly? In 5 years people won't even remember this patch. If anything they will remember the nerfs but the game will advance so much over the life span of this game people will forget about vanilla launch builds. D2 LOD was met with similar criticism when they nerfed characters across the board but people remember it as one of the genre-defining games of a generation.

It sucks but it needed to be done to pave the way for the new developments to be made. Do you have any idea how hard it is to balance a game under such public scrutiny? If they continued the way things were, people might not even use seasonal theme features (like malignant hearts for the first obvious example).

They nerfed everything to the ground, intentionally... So they can build everything back up.

In order to pave the way for future updates, they needed everything to reset to barely anything doable so they can predict more accurately builds that they feature every season.

I personally don't care I'm just going Druid for end game content but the devs aren't these evil money grubbing villains every forum is making them out to be.

If you're developing an arc... A talent arc, build arc, the arc that exists from day 1 of new content until end of that season where new metas form... In order to CONTROL that arc, they NEEDED to nerf everything so that every build starts off garbage. You can't develop an arc without a strong foundation, and part of being game devs is to be aware of that arc so they can innovate and provide the best services the game can become.

TLDR: It's easy to criticize a company but it's infinitely harder to be in their shoes controlling an economy. You have to understand it's like legitimate politics. If you make a bill as a senator, since it's a political climate, every stance there will be opposition. As politicians you need to be aware of every action that has an opposition and try to appeal to every demographic.

With game design, every action has opposition from another group of people. They can either try to make everyone happy, and drive their gamer base away because the game is too EASY and time sink, or they can try to be responsible and set the game up for success... And drive away the fanbase.

If you're still here on forums after the nerfs, you clearly have an interest still in the game. So play it. If you don't want to play it, don't play it. Wait a few seasons for set items to release (I have no idea when they are releasing set items). If you "WASTED MONEY" on the Ultimate Edition, you have that token to apply to the season of your choice. Just save the accelerated battle pass for a season you can get excited about. Don't come on here and troll the forums eating popcorn.

Personally, I am excited to play season 1 because it's the first seasonal journey where there will be free content regardless of how much money you spent on the game. Seasonal Journeys in Diablo 3 always felt really rewarding to me so I'm excited to see what they do. I think they grant tons of aspects pending on the class you're playing.
