Part 0 : WHY PLAY SORCERESS IN DIABLO 4

With current meta, Druids, barbs and rogues seem to be the strongest classes.

HOWEVER

Sorcs have amazing strengths : mobility, crowd control, SPEED.
I've been able to clear Blind Burrows in less than 4 minutes, complete 1-50 powerlevel in less than 50 minutes for alt chars thanks to this build.

If you want to push 60+ NM Dungeons, this build is NOT for you. Reroll to Rogue, Druid or Barb.
If you want to clear dungeons like Blind Burrows as fast as possible, kill enemies in a blink of an eye, move to next group of enemies in an even shorter blink of an eye, then this build is for you.

Here's my guide to...

Speedrunner Ice Shard Sorc build

Part 1 : PLAYSTYLE

Teleport, Frost Nova, Iceshard, Chain reaction of Frost Nova thanks to Frostburn & Ice Shard Brais and enhanced crowd control mechanic thanks to Raiment of the Infinite proc.

Move freely through enemies at 200% MS thanks to Aspect of Ghostwalker and Aspect of Bounding Conduit.

Part 2 : SKILLS

Enchantment : Fire Bolt / Ice Shards

Fire Bolt +2
Ice Shards +5 / Enhanced Ice Shards / Destructive Ice Shards
Devastation +1
Elemental Dominance +3
Flame Shield +1 / Enhanced Flame Shield / Shimmering Flame Shield
Teleport +5 / Enhanced Teleport / Shimmering Teleport
Frost Nova +1 / Enhanced Frost Nova / Mystical Frost Nova
Ice Armor / Enhanced Ice Armor
Elemental Attunement +1
Glass Cannon +3
Precision Magic +3
Align the Elements +1
Mana Shield +1
Protection +1

Part 3 : GEAR

Once you reach max paragon and lvl 100, you don't need as much damage you can improve the mobility and still be able to clear dungeons super efficiently like Blind Burrows.

We want to maximize Cooldown Reduction (CDR) and Movement Speed (MS), while keeping a high level of damage thanks to Vulnerability multiplier (VUL), Critical strike chance (CSC), Critical strike damage (CSD).
We also want to ensure we have enough resource generation using Lucky Hit Chance (LHC), restore resource on lucky hit. Having a high LHC will also benefit our ability to chain proc Frost Nova, as you will see.

Weapon :
- Highest Item Power
- CSD
- CSC
- VUL
- Int / Other Dmg multiplier
- Aspect of Piercing Cold (important)
- Socket : Emerald

Focus / Offhand :
- Highest Item Power
- CDR
- Mana Cost Reduction (MCR)
- Restore resource on lucky hit
- Damage reduction from enemies that are burning
- Aspect of Conceited
- Socket : Emerald

Chest : Raiment of the Infinite - Stun on teleport is a nice crowd control mechanic that improves the build's clear time, mobility and crowd control
- Socket : Ruby

Pants : Iceheart Brais - Create a chain reaction of Frost Nova thanks to this unique effect, contributes to having an impressively quick clear time
- Socket : Ruby

Gloves : Frostburn - Freeze enemies synergizes with Iceheart Brais and Lucky Hit Chance

Helm
- CDR
- Max Mana
- LHC while barrier
- Total Armor / Int
- Socket : Ruby

Boots (one of the most important pieces for mobility)
- Evade increases 50% MS
- Teleport +4
- Frost Nova +4
- MS
- MCR
- Aspect of Ghost Walker - While unstoppable and 4 seconds after that, increases move speed and can move freely through enemies - This is an excellent aspect. It works with Teleport and Flame Shield. Use it

Amulet (one of the most important pieces)
- CDR
- MS
- Def skills +2
- Devouring blaze +2 or MS after killing an Elite
- Aspect of the Bounding Conduit - Increased MS after Teleport
- Socket : Skull

Rings
- VUL
- CSC
- CSD
- Resource Gen
- Aspect of Frozen Memories & Aspect of Storm Swell
- Socket : Skull

Part 4 : PARAGON

Base Board
- Legendary Node : nil
- Rare Node : Elementalist, Elemental Balance
- Destruction Glyph

Burning Instinct Board
- Legendary Node : nil
- Rare Node : Smoldering Embers, Culler, Kindling, Cinders, Safeguard (low priority)
- Exploit Glyph

Elemental Summoner Board
- Legendary Node : nil
- Rare Node : Reservoir, Swift Conjurer
- No Glyph

Icefall Board
- Legendary Node : Icefall
- Rare Node : Frost, Icefall, Frigid, Cryomancy
- Control Glyph

Frigid Fate Board
- Legendary Node : Frigid Fate
- Rare Node : Oppressive, Chilling, Weakness, Advantage
- Flamefeeder Glyph

Part 5 : FINAL THOUGHTS

Again, this build is, in my opinion, the best build to Speedrun current dungeons and generate fastest clear time for Blind Burrows as well as powerlevel 1-50.
In the future, new content will bring +skill affix just like Shako. This will further reduce cooldown time of Teleport, Frost Nova and Flame Shield, making this build even more efficient.
Perhaps we can dream of a future where we can spam Teleport just like we did in D2.

Also, Sorcs are the sexiest, looking forward to seeing sexy clothing cosmetics lol

Would you advise against low rolls for the aspect of bounding circuit and ghost walkers? I have all the gear to make my sorcerer fast (or I will tomorrow) but I have low % aspects. Does it matter that much? Or should I wait for a good roll'ed aspect?

terrible aspect choices

needs accelerating aspect, ghostwalker aspect on amulet not boots, wind striker aspect better than bounding conduit imo
ice armor unstoppable aspect on helm


shatter instead of avalanche

For Ice Shard Speed farming... Should I re-roll the MCR into teleport? Or should I get rid of "movement speed for killing an elite"?

My goal right now is speed so, is it worth keeping both speed stats?

All damage multipliers are additive so if you get +10% damage on an item it adds only 10% to a total damage multiplier of let's say 300% so 10% more is just 310% instead of 300%

Except vulnerable damage which is a multiplier on its own

Let me explain :

- if you have +20% damage to all, +20% damage to close enemies, +20% dmg to stunned, you do base damage x60% to a stunned, close enemy

- if you have +20% vulnerable on top, you do base damage x60% x20% which is 192% of base damage

Key learning 1 : vulnerable is op if you can proc it

You want to ensure you have a viable vulnerable proc which is really easy to get for Barb/Druid/Rogue there is a glyph to apply vulnerable on each enemy.
If you're a sorc, just use frost nova. For this build specifically, you also naturally proc vulnerable with Ice shards.
Necromancers have a poor access to vul as far as I know.

Critical strike is also multiplicative on top of total damage

- if you have +20% crit dmg on top you will do : base damage x 192% x crit dmg multiplier

Key learning 2 : crit dmg multiplier is good but you don't proc crit strike 100% of the time so it's priority 2

So you also want to have high critical strike proc to benefit from CSD multiplier.

In other words your priorities for high damage are (in the right order):

- Highest Item Power from weapon (base damage)
- Vulnerable damage
- Critical strike damage & Critical strike chance
- And then and only then other Dmg multipliers
- Alternatively main stat that increases base damage

Conclusion : +% damage is lower priority compared to VUL, CSD and CSC

Is lightning crit strike calculated after all dmg like crit dmg?

You know what you should do in time for new season? A 40+ Ice Shards sorcerer CARRY build. I see so many sorcerers level 100 carrying 40 up past 50 with 3 leechers in the party. Could you make a modified build for that?

I also figured out myself this was the best variant of iceshards build got to lvl 100 week ago
