Serious question: Why are you clinging to your original post that's a year old now when multiple people are telling you objective facts from the beta that we just now played?

I mean it's been a year nobody is going to think you're stupid for guessing wrong on what D4 was supposed to be 12 months ago, we've got a lot of new information and actually got to play it ourselves now. It'd be cool if you were Nostradamus but you're not.

Because I saw this beta too. Didn't play it but didn't have too. Saw some streams.

It's a D3 on steroids, with a darker color palette, that's all. Nothing like D2.

Ahh you shoulda played it or paid closer attention to when your streamer was building his character, it's a lot more like D2 in that regard.

And, since you are making this artificial point about who actually clicked the buttons (you or some streamer), there are a lot of people who played the beta and share my opinion on it being a D3 all over again.

Even MrLlama, who'd have a personal interest in D4 being a good, D2-like game, stated that this game has nothing in common with D2. More like a cross-breed of D3 and Immortal. You may say many things about him but at least he likes D2 and doesn't like D3. Unlike other streamers who are trying to create this symmetric (but false) image of: "well, both games have their advantages and disadvantages, blah blah blah...". Because they want to stream the living s**t out of D4 as it is essentially a cash-grab for them. And it only happens once in 10 years.

LOL like that princess fiona streamer who almost cried on stream because she felt represented she got to play an obese druid. 99% of streamers are pawns being manipulated af by selling out, or catering to their game dev gods. nothing more. , only one that is prob legit is asmongold

agree with you there. not a fan of llama after he got wafflestomped in the chaos sanctuary in a pub game, then cried to the devs about a "fair play team", and threatened to get the player banned.

I am not defending him. I'm just saying that if he saw in D4 anything resembling D2, he'd have jumped on this ship long time ago. It would make him a lot of $$.

He’ll still stream it, of course, but he won't be milking it for another 10 years like all the Rhykkers probably will.

While in my eyes D4 is very much a continuation of D3 in many aspects, I think the key difference here is how the devs maintain, improve and expand the game over time with the seasons. D3 was obviously abandoned too quickly and their vision change with removal of trading, loot 2.0 and absolute lack of endgame essentially doomed the game too quickly.

This will be the key deciding factor for D4 as a long term game. "Just having seasons" is not even remotely close to good enough. D4 will have to be more like PoE-like in terms of seasonal content and upgrades to the game in order to flourish. (not necessarily speaking of systems complexity)

Also people need to be honest with themselves. Diablo 2 was made by Blizz North and they have been gone for ages. People should not be expecting that game anymore. This is a continuation of diablo 3 using an updated version of the inhouse engine made for diablo 3 with lots of assets and systems lifted from diablo 3.

What matters at the end of the day is how the devs will grow and improve the game over time.
