If you read any of my posts previously you know I didn't buy it because it offered no innovation to the space and just regurgitated the same mind numbing ARPG formula which I heavily criticized.
That's what you get with live service games so it makes perfect sense. People are waiting around to see if things change and the game is worth playing. Season 1 showcased what the potential future for the game is and if it has any sort of direction on behalf of the developers.
Also I never made my decision not to play long ago. I said specifically I'd buy the game at a later date at a discount if they ever cleaned it up to a workable state. I'm not interested in paying full price for a beta.
I agree with the lack of innovation. They didn't want to take any risks with the game and only wanted to chase trends (open world).
