I thought the paragon board should have done what socketing gems do in Poe. Add missiles, increased aoe, splash damage for melee, stuff like that. Shit that changes the look and feel of skills..... What did we get tho? More numbers....

Think of how many unique builds you could have created this way

i'm looking here https://d4builds.gg/build-planner/ and you're right. seems like just a bunch of small char stat increases. the legendary nodes look cool however

It's just another bunch of damage or defense numbers. Could have used it as a way that would literally make nearly every build unique in some way if the legendary nodes changed some interaction with each skill. Numbers definitely more exciting tho

Baal runs were the worst loot return you could do for your time. GARBAGE drops during the waves, and killing Baal is a waste of time unless you are level 97 already, and then its a 8 person click fest for maybe a decent drop.


D4 you get pretty decent gear actually, its just a SSF game unlike D2 which is a trading centric game. And in SSF once you upgrade your gear to a certain threshold drops that improve it are very rare. Still the paragon and gliph leveling is a more obvious power progression than +5 vitality and the last few skill points.

Terror zones were a major step in the right direction but leveling in diablo 2 has always been the most dreadfully boring part of the game. A total slog. For ~20 years Baal runs were the most disproportionately rewarding way to level while simultaneously being the most boring zone in the game.

yeah that's why rushing is such a great thing. no one has time to play through the campaign for the 5000th time. in poe, they force you to :lol:

Nobody did baal runs for the loot. They did it to level. Have a basic understanding of what you're talking about
