It happens every season in D4 now… people find exploit first few days, start mass duping Duriel boss materials (and now items). They flood the market with duped boss mats and JSP economy crashes because Duriel runs are super cheap, so more gg and mid items are found and listed for sale. This creates downward pressure on pricing even more.
Then Blizz fixes the exploit about a week or two in, does a ban wave, people rejoice. Duriel prices increase again, item prices go up for a bit. And then another exploit is found.
Rinse and repeat.
My recommendation is that if you have an actual legit gg item, hold onto it for now. Don’t try to sell it during current price depression. Once exploit is patched, prices go up for about a week because materials are more scarce, so try selling during that time frame.
Edit: I don’t think anyone has confirmation or knowledge of timing of banwave. You can usually tell something will happen though because Blizz will disable trading for a few days while they figure out how to patch the exploit
