There will FOR SURE be op Runewords to combo.
However, all in all it would be pretty great if normal gems would still be used for the majority of gear. Rune Words are way more specific and impactful, while normal Gems are more like a general stat increase with less specific impact.
The most desired runes, if rare enough - which is almost never the case in post 2012 Diablo Games - could also be valuable currency items.
Well if the runewords stay as they are right now yom and ohm are useless think they were the only runewords that was worth to sock into gear
Since ohm doesn’t give berzek anymore and yom now gives u resource instead of the 30%x crit dmg which make it worth less since they both have their cost increased
