i dont think people even bother to follow numbers over lets say 5 digits. i remember in grim dawn you can pull off 6 digit crits and even thats kinda boring
the best game that showed numbers was neverwinter nights 1, where even 50~100 were insane dmg numbers. you needed a dedicated char that did literally nothing else to pull off max dmg numbers like this. people in multiplayer were waaaay more impressed by something like this than anything you can get in todays games :drool: this number was enough to oneshot literally anything, it was 2-3 times the hit points of the toughest enemy :mellow:

But about the main subject, yes, 100000%. Nobody in their right mind actually want numbers with 10 digits, it's way too hard to visuallly seize and compile.

It s a bit retarded but it has to do with the endless mob scaling. So in games where you have 4 static difficluties for example it s easy... you start from one and you define the highest boss life let s say at 1000.. then you scale all skills and dmg numbers (m3chanics)to that. If you want to have a system (like pit, rifts, torments) where mobs scale higher and higher then you gotta deal them billions to cover the stupid scaling. Admitedly they could also scale from 1 to 20000 k let s say the highest life on pit 200 for example and things would change. We ve seen massive stat squish for new season .. fingers crossed. I for example only played without dmg on screen this season. Rather neutral if i want to see it or not. I only checked a few times the numbers in the training groud and then deactivated it.
