That's because most guides are endgame builds and assuming the player is level 100 to place all points. That's why you use a level build just to grind to 100 before switching unless you really know what you're doing. Moxsy on youtube has three guide videos step by step with written guide as well for different levels and tiers. You should take a look at that.
Nah, I just rotated the paragon boards to have the generator earlier. I also got a Mothers Ring drop that helped but was un-needed after taking the 2 spirit pre crit early.
