I've found more sellable rares in d4 season 1 than 20 years in d2.

I think you just can't get over D2.

And you think i mean "sellable" when I say exciting? 🤣

IP925 items is where it's at. Start farming them in S2

Sounds pretty damn exciting! IP925.

Does that mean I get + 100dps, 2,5% more damage versus xyz and 2,5% more xyz reduction?

Cant wait.

Dopamine rush for items of value dropping.. to use or sell. What's the difference d2 and d4 has them. I don't recall being anymore excited to find a shako in d2 than to find a tempest roar in d4...

And I guarantee the excitement of finding a shako in d4 now will be 1000x more exciting than anything in d2 lol

Move on from d2 bro.. it's unhealthy

So you are saying the dopamine from finding a Shako in D4 on your druid who uses Tempest Roar as BIS will provide 1000x dopamine rush than Diablo 2?
Interesting take.

I played bulwark. Finding the staff was massive dopamine and finding a Shako for my bulwark would be more.

You. Missing my point?

I find rings and amulets on d4 that were more exciting than anything I've found in d2.

Many years ago I found a fools axe with eth rep... still didn't compare some of this stuff I found in d4.

I found the world first shako at d2r ladder launch

Meh

What I mean is that you don't need those items to continue your progression in Diablo 4. It was proven by players accomplishments that end game content can be beaten without those Uber uniques ingame making them irrelevant.
The difference is that in Diablo 2, if you wish to push your content you had to get those items, making those valuable and in demand hence why the hype behind certain items.

As it stand still, Tempest Roar will provide more dopamine on drop than a Shako because Tempest would be necessary for a specific build to progress further in the game. If you were to drop Shako from farming those 5 bosses, it would be indicator that you reached the end of the content and it is time to log out.

Also, I don't find anything exciting about finding a ring, amulet or weapon in D4 that has 3/4 stats knowing i'm gonna have to farm a ridiculous amount of gold to "MAYBE" get something good if i'm lucky in the gold sink feature.
In Diablo 2, your item is either trash or good, and when it's good you get excited. There is no bullshit about trying to cook its stats to make it playable.

I think that is one of the main reason why people still compare itemization with Diablo 2 as of today.
When you drop a Ber rune in D2, it means much more than just making Enigma or a runeword. It means you can use this to potentially acquire the item you were missing in your build that RNG never blessed you with. There isn't anything comparable to this in Diablo 4.

Depends on your idea of end game in d2.
Temp grief plus mid level gear can farm ubers

No one self finds the runes to make a week 2 Lw to farm ... its gathered and traded for. Much like those builds that people cleared t100's or uber lilith with. Very few were 100% self found runs and the dungeon sigils were the easiest ones possible.

So in a sense high end gear was also proven to be unnecessary in d2 as well. I can say I never found a zod or Jah runes..
Wouldnt matter because in the time it would take to find Jah and ber for enigma... you can just trade for it easily..
