i think that dissociative identity disorder is like long covid, its basically a contagious mass hysteria symptom in highly neurotic people (which is why its so much more common in women), it doesnt actually exist. whenever i see either of those two i know its either a grifter or some neurotic woman. or both (cough *physics girl* cough) :mellow:

as for science, yeah ofc i dont have any peer reviewed shit but ive noticed that any illness that targets predominantly women and isnt a direct consequence of organ difference and hormones, is generally attributed to psychological differences (women have higher neuroticism, they are basically worse at handling stress). i gave those two examples but it would also apply to autoimmune diseases like lupus :unsure:
