wtf ? how could they modify all items stats during nerf but not during a patch... theres no prepatch items in d4

The items are stored with their affixes, and an offset in the range. The nerf was done by adjusting ranges, therefore the items were changed. The same happens with the aspects that they've buffed, you get the new range on existing aspects and your value is whatever portion into the range it was before.

When they change an affix that a unique drops with, it's just changing the new items because the affix itself is stored for that item.

Also, there are going to be people that were using the item and prefer the original affix.

That’s a pretty nice one too!

It's kinda obvious with how patches have affected existing items/aspects since release.

When they make changes they're not going to process all database shards and overwrite existing items.

Well some thing was overwritin. Like Gohr's.
