I was so hyped when I heard d4 was in development. I thought they would go back and make it more like d2 than d3.
years later after playing it for a month now, it's just so depressing.
no sets
weak gems
no runes/runewords
uniques suck, except the ones you will never find
certain aspects are mandatory
certain glyphs are mandatory
etc
there is no real options in builds other than cookie cutting.
this is due to how poorly they designed the damage/defense system.
I really loved that system in d2, the blocking, resistances, the attack rating and defense, with the exception of "magic" damage, it felt very balanced. tie in fcr, fhr, and other factoring aspects of a build, they really had a working system to build upon
why would they not take a working system and improve it. baffling.
then there is the whole trading scene...just kills it for me.
having items account bound is a terrible mechanic.
this was a massive failure IMHO. D4 feels like a big box store providing generic content, knowing it will sell due to its big name, but also knowing it's just garbage
Lastly.... HOW THE F CK IS THIS DIABLO WHEN THERE IS NO DIABLO????
I think main failure here is horrible pool of affixes - big part of them just should not be in the game. Especially if lucky hit, if crit, if x% chance concept.
