Counter point: I made a sorc this season and did exactly this. I hit level 50 and I can’t make myself keep playing, it’s so fucking boring. It’s not that I can’t do the content, I don’t want to. It feels like a punishment.

It is a punishment like no other.

Oddly enough for pre-season I leveled a sorc to 83, got bored, got a druid power-leveled to 50 and didn't do anything with him, then self-leveled a TB rogue to 58 and stopped playing completely.

Then for S1, even with the lack of seasonal content, I got my penetrating shot rogue to 87 despite limited playing time and still have motivation to get to 100.

I feel this 100%. I got two characters to level 100 in eternal realm prior to S1 and was enjoying the game for the most part. Partly because I was hoping Blizzard would nerf the drop rates to the uber uniques or do something ballsy that would give us a reason to grind the same dungeons over and over post level 85. None of that came. In fact, the game got significantly worse and less fun to play after patch 1.1.0. Obviously we all know this will be changing significantly for the better come 1.1.1 but damn, even still. On d2 I could magic find for reasonably obtainable rare items like grandfather, tyraels might, mang's song... I could actually play an MF sorc for months doing a grail run and actually enjoy it. I find it extremely difficult to want to do anything in D4 and I hate that I feel this way.

/e Let's not forget the ENDLESS amount of fun in PVP in D2.
