D2 is from 2000. You are right tho, it was fun from 2001 onwards. Its always bumpy for ARPGs.

The reception to the patch was vastly blown out of proportion.
Exp nerf? I'm level 60 now playing casually, many others got level 100 already.
DPS nerf? I'm killing packs in NM dungeon 10+ levels higher than me with ease.

Powerleveling nerf? You can get to level 70 in 3 hours.

The only bad thing about the patch was Barbs got hit again with another nerf and they are really not doing well right now.
Good news is they got some buffs coming in a few weeks.

True. I didnt even notice the influence of the patch before reading about it. Loaded it down, played a few hours and then looked up the patch notes.
Its honestly not that brutal.

What was so wrong with elden ring when it first came out?

Interested to know your definition of casual. Did you level to 60 solo? Do you consider 4 days to reach 60 casual, really?

I play solo yes.

I probably have about 20 hours logged right now cuz it was my weekend.

I guess 5 hours a day is not casual but I was playing a few hours of Dota as well so it felt pretty casual to me. I played like twice that amount of time over my weekend when D4 launched and didn't touch Dota or any other game for weeks.

I think if you know what you're doing and especially if you play Rogue you can get to 60 in 4 days no problem. Time can be cut back so much if you're efficient and have your build planned.

How are you going from 45-60?

It seems very slow for me. It took me 2 hours to go from 46 to 48. WT1 Blind burrows. Not much town time just blasting and resetting.

I'm afraid of WT3 until I get a few more levels.

From 45-60 I did NMD that put mobs 10 levels higher than me.
I did my Capstone to go to T4 at level 57 then leech all legion events in T4.

Yeah you need to get out of T1 asap.
You want to be killing mobs 10 levels higher than you always.
You can leech Legion events and Helltides too.
Helltides are a bit harder to leech though.
