really can't imagine having enough interest in the game to level up a 2nd character, even if there is a nEw QuEsTlInE with super special buffs and aspectz. and assuming the new aspects go to your eternal after the reset, that means you had to play the same character type over again each season to get them or what? with that kind of logic you really might as well just delete your old character unless you're solely aspect hunting.

D2 and PoE are/were the same way, so... yeah.
