Monster scaling doesn't work in ARPGs for a proper feeling of accomplishment. Itemization built completely around aspects doesn't work either. The game has no real social experience because trading was gutted to only random items (rares) and not static items (uniques/runes). Half of the game is missing without static chase items and the trading that ensues.
The open world doesn't really fit in this type of game either because it causes severe issues with grouping itself. It might fit a true mmo, but this is an arpg we're talking about. If they wanted to turn Diablo into wow they should have gone all in rather than this bastardized hybrid open world experience. As in over the shoulder instead of isometric and having heavy rpg elements. What we got was some really weird combination of ideas from multiple games that just doesn't mesh well together.
Monsters have no personality and the sound design behind monsters and music is trash.
