I was rushing to this forum to see what everyone thought! I never played d2.. Started in d3 so I don't have any experience with runewords. I am super excited though !! I'm going to have to look into them to see what all they can do but it seems like a good addition.

Good luck with the runes if duping is still a thing to exist and can’t be dealt with. Even if the runes themselves are same with d2, from functioning to droprate. I don’t see how d4 players won’t cry about it next season. Ohh hello, can we increase rate so everyone gets their ber rune after playing for a week please

"yes, runewords in d2r are in vessel of hatred" - No, it is just one special kind of buff for your character. Runewords gave you full unique item with a lot of stats.
"yes, enigma is there" - No, because of CD. Try create a sorc in d4 now and compare speed of teleport use.

You have no idea how it’s going to be yet quit reaching. If you have more than just enigma on you can gain faster cd. Surely they’re not stupid enough to allow a slow teleport…right?

Yeah, for reals. I'm also hyped that this could potentially be the new currency, since we don't really need billions of gold all the time and runes can actually be very helpful.

In addition, runes can be helped in crafting mythic uniques (3 runes + spark = mythic unique). And the thing is, that one spark is easy to get (just finish seasonal quest or kill tormented boss).

Overall, I think it's a W for Blizzard at this point.
