Any reasons why a Laptop?

I have a Razer 15 inches, RTX 3080, 64gb ram, 144hz screen. It is nice but it would be an understatement to say this thing produces A LOT of heat.
Its constantly sitting on a cooling pad because it easily reached 70 degrees Celsius.

Also, you will invest in a device that will be hard to upgrade meaning if you go for a gaming laptop, you must all in or not at all because in 2-3 years it will be outdated. This only thing you can upgrade will be storage and RAM memory. That is about it.
I think if you find a good solution around 1000$ that can run well on medium specs then I would stick with that until you can drop 2k-3k on a laptop.

I use the power brick on my laptop to warm my feet in the winter. Laptops for the win.

Laptop as I travel a good bit and when I'm not traveling I work at al desk all day. I don't want to sit at a desk and play Diablo after sitting at a desk for 8+ hours for work you know. I played a lot of D2 mostly from couch on Laptop. I may just invest the 3k and get something very nice then.

Get 2 pieces of timber 1in squares cut them to length of your laptop slide them under your laptop. It helps circulate the air. My laptop used to cook the table until I elevated it.

Yeah good tip. It's 20 degrees elevated. I also bought a wireless keyboard so my hands aren't sitting on the hot keyboard of the laptop. At that point I could have a Desktop with better specs for the same price. I don't really see myself playing around with it considering the amount of heat it produces.

Few years ago i bought a msi ge 76 raider with and 3080 and it still runs everything in 1440p with over 120 fps. But it heats reallly bad and clearly makes a lot of noise. Still use it whenever i travel with the wife and kids and they re all asleep by 9 pm. Rarely touch it when I m at home tho.
