First off, thanks to everyone who replies

Okay, so can I remove my pvp gear components, and put it into adaptive gear and keep the set bonus?

pvp gear for the jedi guardian looks ugly in my opinion

No, you can't and keep the set bonus.
At least to my knowledge.

I believe this is correct. The set bonus is applied to the gear pieces themselves not the mods.

Pretty shure you can switch it to adaptive gear. its either the mod or armoring that has the set bonus. give it a try. i would assume it works same was as pve gear does.

The set bonus is tied to the armoring.
