Dead on this forum maybe. But in general, the game is not dead. A strong ~1mil (according to BW lol...) players. Especially now that they gave us server transfers, it doesnt feel dead anymore :D I just came back to SWTOR too :D

SWG is shut down, there are a few people trying to make free servers but without help from the developer with the code they will likely never reach what WoW has now on free private servers.
