well from my understanding from what i read and a few images i saw on darth hatter  it seems like some of the top end gear is fully modable and some of it comes with no mods just stats.  but with this curent moding build you would be able to take any item with 3 mod slot to end game even if you got it at level 9.  example  in beta i was given a lightsaber with 3 mod slots  i keept this same saber untill the last day of beta cuz i keep changing the mods in it. i also had artifice so i was crafting my own mods for the saber.  some missions gave me better mods.    it can be alot of work to keep your gear update when leveling if your useing the mod gear but at the same time it lets you gear a peace of gear with the look you liked and keep that gear useable in combat. 

i myself will be using mod gear as i hate the looks of the end game gear right now.  JC looks like the queen of Naboo and when i see the SI gear  the song bull god from kid rock comes to mind. cuz the SI looks like a cloth covered bull.  and as someone who will be playing a SI i will be keeping the 1st pair of modable pants as i hate the idea of being stuck in a dress.

if you have not played in beta but you have pre ordered the game  you are now able to pre load the game. 

if you have played in beta but your game client is from before the nov 25th beta test you will need to reinstall the game. if your client is from the nov 25th beta test or later  all you need to do is download a patch.
