The Hero Engine is about 6 years old, and was not created for SWTOR in any way. It was created for a totally separate game by the company that made the engine. Cause you know, thats why you do. You make an engine and build your game using it. Not buy some random companies shit.

It was just a bad call by Bioware. They had plenty of time and the resources to build an engine from the ground up.

And its going to end up costing them millions of dollars. Lol.

Literally all my friends who bought it have quit at this point. 2 weeks ago we were all in love with the game. (I know 6 people who have quit.)

The company that developed the engine intended it for 3rd party usage. The first "game" made for it was to show off the engine. Bioware had intended to use it from the beginning, and the version they use is almost brand new. Only one other game was made from it, and that was last year. If you think companies all make their own engine you're an idiot and incredibly naive. Unreal Engine 3 is used by hundreds of games (And great games at that), and it was created in the early 2000s. You think every game that uses it used the first version? No, they don't, they use the newest one.

Unreal engine 3 was first seen in gears of war (2006). So... good job there didn't even research it at all.
