I can really only afford to upgrade one thing at a time, but i have $100 in newegg giftcards from the holidays

first up I'm thinking a SSD and a 1gb vid card. SSD shopping should be easy enough but the last vid card purchase i made was a 6800gt :o

anyone suggest some cards in the $150 price range?
or should i really be looking into upgrading cpu first?

i spam darkward i still die so easy... idk what are your main stater moves? what do u do combo wise for attacking?

Shock>Force lightning>Crushing force> Force lightning>shock

Comes out to around 3.5k in <25 seconds

level 28

Then from what i remember

Attack X3>electro>maul

Adds another 1.3k in like 8 seconds.

as an assassin? i do the electrocute and maul but i still kill slow and die fast... hmm maybe im, doing something wrong

What is your level ?
Also, dont maul all the time. Trash is better to use sometimes

lvl 28 atm, speced for tank so kind of hard to maul. in fp's im pretty decent as a tank but solo i seem to get the shit beat out of me all the time

is it worth it to go dps for solo play and just pay to respec for fps?

Respec dps if you wish to do more dmg obv but you shouldn't have problems leveling as a tank.
You should probably read ur talents beacause you're obv doing something wrong

the only time i use electrocute is if i see my hp decrease drastically. then i maul.

I think you are doing something wrong.

The most common practice is too buy two mainhands then just take all the mods out and put it in an offhand weapon.

Does force shroud offer the same thing (+more) as unbreakable will (the bolded text) and a bit extra? or does the force shroud refer to bleed/burn and such?

Unbreakable will: Summons the unbreakable will of the Sith, immediately freeing you of all incapacitating and movement-impairing effects.

Force Shroud: Removes all hostile removable effects and increases your chance to resist Force and tech attacks by 100% for 3 seconds. Does not break Stealth.
