If you were invited to the beta you can use the current client to play. If you pre-ordered you should also be able to, but you only have like 2 days left before launch and I think that's when you have to enter in the retail code.

so theres no way to download it? if i were to get a friends account could i download it from there now?

Open the launcher, download the 15gig patch, and wait till you get your access.

You must do that. Have a friend with the game, take his account, go download the client, then patch.
