I'd like to look for the fastest method to level up above CP600.
I have abandoned the game for a year or two and now I want to start harvesting resources to craft/sell at guild merchants and this requires CP in the crafting tree. (double resource chance, reduced harvesting time...)

I remember packing lots of monsters in a craglorn tomb using exp scrolls, potions etc.. Is that as fast as it gets ? I know about Alikr desert but it does not seem quick enough to me.

I think you need to look at it a little bit differently… this is a game of alts…at least for crafting materials. I have 8 characters all leveled to 50. I do my crafting writs everyday whether I play eso or not (or make an attempt to). The influx of materials I get from completing these writs is more than enough to sustain golding out sets for whatever content….and yes I even can gold my own jewelry out…slowly but surely.

The point is I don’t spend any time harvesting mats (outside of doing the surveys that the writs provide- do these they are very time efficient) and have a lot of leftover gold materials just sitting waiting to be used.

The gold will come in from the writs too.

Most established players have some sort of set up similar to above mentioned.

Personally recommend you level your alts so that they passively gather all the stuff and spend that time leveling up your main, doing trials, pvp, etc…

Leveling alts is super quick during events, and also can be done slowly but surely through just doing their daily dungeon and BG.

Oh here’s a great tip too- make all your alts that you know you won’t play much tank or healer for fast ques in dungeons. You’ll thank me later for that one

And to be quite frank, I think grinding CP alone is a good way to burn out of the game fast

Got that, I do have other toons to Max out their crafting abilities, I think I should do that
I wanted to collect "fast enough" because I like to pick-up everything on my Way to skyshards/dungeons for completion and harvesting nodes is so slow .. I'm often getting lucky on refining to get craft mats, this Is why I keep doing it :D

The fastest way to grind CP was blackrose prison (BRP) with 2 players. Pretty sure it might still be but I haven't CP grinded in three months. Do the first 4 rounds using all buffs on the arena (they help it go faster).

Use All DPS characters (leveling tanks and healer's isn't recommended but all you do is build a DPS character or restat/reskill).

Basically:

If you teleport to BRP wayshrine you can mount up n ride to BRP entrance.

Enter through the door that way when you leave the arena on the 4th round (using leave instance under the group menu) it will bring you to the entrance of BRP.

Then you just reset by switching to veteran and back to normal and enter the door again.

Clear to round 4 and rinse/repeat.

You have to bash the archers and the incinerator mages but apart from that it's really good XP.

Obviously use the highest XP scrolls or XP drinks you can. They unfortunately do not stack however.

Edit: to do vet trials with serious groups you will want CP above 2000 just fyi. And mage's guild and psijic order. Just FYI.

Second edit: everything Primarius said is really good info. I have 13 characters doing daily writs and 6 of which are maxed out.

Also because they all get enlightened (more XP for a period of time) you can log off not each one and grind with a higher XP rate.

Contrary to Primarius though I do actually run around picking up mats at times but mostly platinum dust and I know my routes for that... I'll also run around for corn flower.

One good thing for mats is RESOURCE SURVEYS which you get from writs. Stack them in your bank and when you get a few copies you can find the nodes which are always in the same place. Once you collect all the nodes you run away from their location for 6 seconds and run back and if you have a map active in your inventory the nodes will reappear. Each node will grant like 24-40 platinum dust (and titanium shards) or scraps. For alchemy mats like 6-12 each node. I have emptied out about 6 location and about 40 maps and made like 2 chromium plates the other days (chromium plates are worth 90k+ on my platform).

Find a group and rotate characters through the undaunted dailies. You get basically a guaranteed level doing the first because of the once daily xp boost, and tons of exp otherwise. If you are light on scrolls pop one late in the three dungeons and turn in your quests all at once with a scroll active.

If you don’t have scrolls I can’t imagine xp food recipe costs more than 10k now, I probably spent that little on it years ago.

I hate grinding in games. This was the most fun way to level for me. If you don’t have a crew just consistently doing zone story quests gives plenty of exp. This game allows for good leveling by just playing the game.

Also, when you get achievements you get tons of experience. I recall one time I got over 5 million experience for popping an achievement or two with exp boost and enlightenment. That was three or four cp gained immediately.

Well I have tried the above set up with black rose prison but a bit modified :

I crafted hunding rage + ancient dragonborn , this with paleorder + relequen
with a friend. All training gear purple but yellow weapon.
Going to round 2, one dies before killing the armored guy (it goes round 3 if you kill it), the other guy uses resurrection sigil, then dies, the other one resurrect thanks to sigil and can revive friend, then round 2 starts over. I have used a grand coast exp scroll (could use ambrosia drink aswell) and got the number of" 7.1 mil xp / 1.7 hour "
It sure wasn't optimal because it's first try and we did not customise skills/CP to be comfortable, but it was decent!

I believe I gained34 cp in about 1h45 from CP790 to CP824 which was pleasant to experiment.

This method from time to time + daily RND/Undaunted/BG/Writs will be okay ☺
Thx for advices!

I might need to adjust buffs/skills to be able to kill faster, maybe use more AoE, but the idea is there!
