There are a few of us who play xbox.
That being said, dont worry about items until you get to level 50 cp 160, thats when gear stops improving, so you can start gearing your character after you reach that level.
In the time being you could have somebody craft you some training gear which increases experience gain. Otherwise just use whatever you find until cp160
Also, do you plan on playing pvp or pve? most pve sets are bind on pickup, so they cannot be traded, most pvp sets can be traded though.

for builds you can check Alcast and Dottz Gaming. Alcast has better pve builds, and Dottz has better pvp builds, but they both offer builds for all types of gameplay (excluding roleplaying... but thats mostly a WoW thing, i dont think theres much of a community for that if thats what you like).

Champion Points.. once you hit level 50 its the number after that.
