I think people dont realize gold isnt that valuable, since console just release so most people are impatient and trying to upgrade maybe bank/bags fully and wasting gold on items at low level.
Or trying to get a bite ingame/getting scam.

Early access to gold is valuable to buy backpacks & bank upgrades, the more you can carry the more you can sell in a guild store for profit.
