I have heard some good things about ESO, and want to give it a try. But I heard there is no public auction house, so, how do people trade/buy their stuff? How is the economy maintained?

any comments are welcome. thanks.

Still somewhat new too myself, but you can join up to 5 guilds at once. Many players seem to use some/most of these slots for joining trade guilds.
Guilds have merchants in major cities anyone can buy from, and I believe you need access and to be a part of the guild to list/sell on those.
There's also the guild store which is guild only trading so to speak.
I also see guilds masters offering to craft for members for a price as well as guilds using the guild bank cooperatively to share items they need for crafting research.
Crafting seems to be a large part of the best gear from what I understand.
