Obviously. Skyrim = Single Player, ESO = MMO

HUGE difference in the way the game is made because of that.

Regardless, I personally feel it has a Elder Scrolls feel to it. I feel like I am playing an Elder Scrolls game, and I am very happy with the game so far.

I really enjoyed it, pretty good story, takes a long time to max out your levels, and then a really long time to get vet 10.

It certainly isn't a skyrim, but it is fun and worth it imo.

only in the sense that its an mmo.

the quests are structured differently and are a bit more narrative. i dont think there are any "kill x number of y mob" type quests. there may be a couple, but very few.

combat is more active. you have fewer abilities, but you also use attack and block manually.

pvp is very different from wow. basically one giant map with lots of little battles going on all over it. its fun, but im a casual pvp player at the most.

i really like that it just happens in the elder scroll universe, though. if you played and enjoyed any of those, then the races, places, gods, lore, etc will be familiar in a good way.

Look, im going to cut to the chase on this game. It is still very very unstable. If you have waited this long to jump on the bandwagon , you might as well wait a little bit longer before jumping on. THey got some serious issues going on right now and I don't recommend paying for this game till it gets all hashed out. The nerfs are getting stupid, and they have several skills and some classes that are just plain broke and not getting repaird. Skills don't operate or are not as powerfull as they should etc etc. I would wait a few more months and then ask again if its worth playing. As of right now, this is there first big patch of the game and it was a total fail.

The game is a pay to play beta so you cant really invest in your character. Its not very cost efficient right now.

It was some fun before the patch though. I like it a lot. BUt after patch, It completely destroyed the game.

I pretty much disagree 100% with everything this guy said. I enjoy playing it all the time, and when I'm not playing I'm looking forward to the next time I'll be able to.

I haven't had a progress impeding bug since the first week or two.

I also did not experience any noticeable memory leak (although I didn't check my task manager or anything - didnt notice any reason why I should). I played for an hour or two last night while watching netflix on my other screen and everything ran smoothly.

wont let me edit that post, but after a little research it seems like the memory leak is a real problem for a lot of people. I'm not experiencing it, but many are. The zenimax reps on reddit say they've identified the issue and are working towards a fix, though.

But it sounds like all you have to do is restart the client every few hours. Not ideal, but you can still play until they fix it.
