Im V10 on a character right now, so I would think the point for me to buy gold would be to reroll stats, I only say this because I refuse to quest anymore. Im saving those quest for xp in later expansions, so the gold drops are pretty low just monster slaying and loot grinding. Ive been doing Wayrest sewar runs for purple mats and I basically sell everything else to the merchants for gold. It cost about 15k to reroll skills. It could take a few days of grinding without questing to gather that up. But I can also sell runes for 1k a piece since I deconstruct all the Veteran glyphs I find. Some of them are worth good coin. Plus people pay for Pact Set. Anyways, For me I think gold would be about rerolling since I want to test a Different kind of build and that could get expensive. Plus you might need to buy mats and epic V Glyphs. Or you might just want to buy a certain set that you cant find in a guild store. Im in a maxed out member trade guild now, and when the good stuff hits the Ah its gone fast if its listed cheap. SO its best to have gold sitting in your bank in case you are grinding and someone finds something you want, you can buy it before it gets listed and probably get it even cheaper by them not knowing the value.
yeah after posting that I realized that you probably spend a lot more in VR content, so maybe those folks have cause to buy (if they are so inclined)
