People want to be ahead of others, and a good way to this is to get more gold.. and since the game is just starting I think its fair to say it may be worth to some

Gold doesn't get you ahead at the start. Efficiency does.
Wasting time buying gold is not efficient. It will actually put you behind, rather than ahead.
