I played skyrim and oblivion quite a bit, but this seems like a whole different game.

On launch day, what will you be doing first?

Also, Any tips for a newcomer to the game (those who have played the beta :) )

I will let you know, might have 1 or 2 other people that I may or may not be playing with

Quests seem to be pretty important to leveling on this game. Is that accurate?

While quests do seem to give you a huge amount of experience, from what I encountered in the beta (Unless the release patch has changed such), grinding can also provide you good experience if you enjoy that.

There are also certain boss creatures that can be defeated easily with 2 people, that also provide good experience, as well as picking locks on chests.

What makes the game-play so good in ESO in my opinion is that no matter what you do, it feels productive. My friends and I plan to adventure around a lot, pick up smaller side quests along the way, discover locations (also provides decent exp), farm up crafting materials, and kill just about everything in sight.

Edit: Although, a lot of quests also offer Skill Points and gold as a reward. But you also find Chests aplenty, Crafting Materials, Skyshards (3 Skyshards = 1 Skill Point), and get to loot whatever you kill while adventuring. Efficiency in my opinion, would come from what you enjoy doing most.

There are always guides for the skyshard locations Highly recommend using these as you quest in each zone! will save you alot of time/ effort. Also one thing you can do is screenshot the sky shard list for each zone and paste to paint and mark them off physically so you won't run into : "Oh crap which one did i not get". You don't want to have to look in 20 different places again because you missed one!
