Purchasing Houses

In Skyrim you can purchase and own 5 houses. Some houses will come with a housecarl that will watch your home when you're off questing. With every house you purchase also follows the options to buy decorations such as: Kitchen Furnishings, Alchemy Lab, Enchanting Lab, Bedroom Furnishings, Armory, + more. Some houses have certain decorations for only that house. An example would be the Riften house has garden furnishings that be purchased. To purchase furnishings you must speak to the Jarl's steward for that specific city.

  Location: Whiterun
  How to unlock: Purchased from Proventus Avenicci. Must complete the quest Bleak Falls Burrow or from Brill after taking Whiterun. Housecarl: Lyrdia
• Honeyside
  Location: Riften
  How to unlock: Purchased from Anuriel. Must become thane of Riften. Housecarl: Iona
• Vlindrel Hall
  Location: Markarth
  How to unlock: Purchased from Raerek. Must complete number of quests for the Jarl including the quest Recover Hrolfdir's Shield. (You can only recieve that quest after reaching level 20) Housecarl: Argis the Bulwark

  Location: Windhelm
  How to unlock: Must complete the quest Blood on the Ice and either Stormcloak or Imperial Army questlines. Housecarl: Calder
• Proudspire Manor
  Location: Solitude
  How to unlock: Must complete quest Elisif's Tribute for the Jarl. Housecarl: Jordis the Sword-Maiden
