so yeah i've downloaded skyrim but '' data-files '' is grey.. means i cant use any mods :(
how can i fix this?

i really want to play the new add-ons and so on.. until TESO comes out :(
should i buy skyrim for the pc ?

My question is:
If i buy the game for the PC will '' data-files '' be available? or is it just a bug?

go to C:\Users\<name>\Documents\My Games\Skyrim

open SkyrimPrefs.ini

add this line right beneath [Launcher] and you are good to go

i've tried it with a tutorial but my '' Skyrimprefs '' are anyhow not positioned correctly lol..

Can someone do it for me for 150 fg?

Okay everything is working now thanks to Zoni. :)

the only problem now is that my computer shuts down while playing skyrim ( within 20-30 mins ).. lol
it probably over-heats dunno why o.o
any way to fix this? my pc is pretty good.. ;o 4gb ram and so on


aaaand~
which mods do you use @ skyrim? :)

Do you have the latest patch installed?
And are you sure you have enough VRAM in your GPU? My old GPU crashes when I put texture packs on...

I use around 100 mods, but the most important are:

Nordic ENB
W.A.T.E.R
Benjamin318s rock textures - BEST rock/mountain textures ever. -> MUSTHAVE
S.M.I.M -> MUSTHAVE
Vurts Flora Overhaul
Skyrim 2k
Serious HD retexture (Must be installed after 2k.) -> MUSTHAVE
Better Dynamic Snow
No stretching (Installed after SMIM and Better Dynamic Snow). -> MUSTHAVE
AOF Tree LOD's
Wet and Cold
Distant detail -> MUSTHAVE and can run on a fucking calculator, refridgerator or whatever. Maybe even a toasted toaster if you tweak it.
Enhanced distant terrain -> MUSTHAVE and read the above again.
Improved NPC clothing -> MUSTHAVE
Amidianborns Book of Silence -> MUSTHAVE and if you don't want it, go play WoW or Runescape, because you obviously don't care about graphics.

Just the most important things.

i'd like to solve my current problem at first if possible :(

currently im using:
SKSE
SKYUI
Midas magic
Skyrim 4gb patch ( doesnt help any.. lol )

Everytime i play skyrim it crashes within 10-20 minutes.
Max length of play time was 18 minutes, afterwards it restarted my pc.
My pc is pretty good i can start diablo 3, 2 times without lagging.

Pc:
4 GB Ram
AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 850 Processor 3.30 GHz
32 bit
Windows 7

Graphic card: GeForce GT 430 driver version 306.97


The crash seems like a known Skyrim bug.. how 2 fix this?
If i'll finally be able to play this game without crashing.. or at least
being able to play 2-3 hours before a crash it'd be fine and i'd donate a good amount of FG's.
help please :(

First of all, get rid of Smartdoctor for good.

If you use an ENB, or RCRN, MSI Afterburner is known to make it crash somehow.

And you did not answer my question of whether you have the latest Skyrim patch installed? Remember to uninstall and remove the 4gb patch if is.

How did you install SKSE, and do you always load through the SKSE launcher?

Will you please upload a screenshot of the graphics settings from the Skyrim launcher?

And please download the latest NVIDIA drivers, they are much better than 306.97.
