my absolute favorite playstike is the sneaky assassin kind with illusion spells. i dont prefer any race, i got probably an assasin on every choosable race.

none, all i played were too easy: sneaky archer + dagger / hand-to-hand + shield / mage / dualwield / 2-h

I like the stories on steam about the illusionist lol. I havent tried it yet, but Im interested trying it if I can get the Wabbajack early.

i can play a thief on master, but i dont think its possible to do it with a wizard

spam dat fire bolt and stagger dem enemies?

you will get stabbed with your thin clothes/ robe ^^ plus out of magika because of higher enemie health

of course you can do it if you love this kind of playstyle, i started a melee orc and got bored after lvl 28 ...
