i like it

the story is interesting
vampirism is more than just a negitive fire resist buff with no advantages
some cool unique items so far, powerful too
new spells
crossbows are cool, fire slower but do about ~40% more damage than bows
dragonbone weapons

ive only done the vampirism storyline so far, but some cons are

kinda buggy, stuck on a quest right now because it didnt pick a dungeon to grab this item
not a whole lot of sidequests that ive seen so far, then again the above con might have something to do with that
all the spells ive picked up so far are kind of weak, adept is the highest ive found
from what i heard, the dawnguard and vampire main quests are basically reskins of each other with a different main base

playing as a vampire lord is fun, even if you don't change all the time. cant wait to try out the werewolf side. you do not gain character levels when you 'level up' and get a perk point with the werewolf/vampire. they have their own little point system that gains experience while playing as one

ahhh that actually sounds pretty interesting, and is it like an actual expansion? Like shivering isles? or is it kind of like the knights of the nine?

a little bit of both.

maybe about half the quests take place in the actual skyrim map. then theres one or two new 'landmasses' connected through a cave, the only one i can think of is pretty fucking big but honestly i dont see myself going back to it for any reason. there is however a new area that you will go to that is pretty big, very interesting place, and seems like theres some things to do even if it is just to explore it. the size of it is probably about the length between whiterun and riverwood. i cant say for certain on the landmasses though, i did the vampire questline in a pretty linear fashion

it should be quite short DLC. the size of it is ~580 Mb and the size of Shivering Isles is ~1,1 Gb

It's fairly lengthy actually. The radiant quests you get from each line makes sure of that. But it is a little buggy starting off, though what new release isn't?
I've been trying to avoid any spoilers from people who got to try out the beta, but I just finished the Dawnguard side and it's pretty good.
I just wished Bethesda implemented a "truly evil" option after reading about people who started with the vampires.

Does anyone know if the vampire chick is a non killable npc? If so, then I won't mind taking her along when I finish the other quests lines. I might even go from werewolf to vamp if I don't start a new char first.

Yea, just read to find if she can get killed, gladly no.

I guess when she kept getting pummeled by falling rocks should've answered that question. I'll be doing another play through as a vampire. The Dawnguard was entertaining but I wanna spice things up a bit.

I plan to start it off doing the main quest though for the shouts and dragons. Then go heavy armor/melee/destruction.

I decided I'm gonna take a lil time off of Skyrim. Don't wanna get too burnt out on it.
