Such nonsense. Just cause every developer sticks to the cheese WoW-clone way of doing things doesn't mean that it's a mandatory thing. If you think a bit more out of the box you can come up with lots of ways to do things differently in an MMO. It's just that it needs some effort and a developer with balls.

Force-feed the same old crap with leveling and grinding to a public for long enough, and soon they start to think it's the only thing that could possibly exist.
