i liked the combat better in oblivion mainly because magic was more fun, and your toon doesn't suddenly slow down cause it's swinging a weapon.  Sure, it's more real;istic the oblivion way, but i'll take fun over realistic.

about the interface it's somewhat just a thing of taste, but the fact that skyrim makes it easier to buy in bulks, or martial stacks, and doesn't ask you a confirmation every single time you wanted to buy an item would have been nice in oblivion

That's not really what I meant about the menu though, I was just talking about how the game menu actually looked.  It looked so much better in Oblivion, was easier to navigate, tracked your stats and quests better.  It had more flare.  The Skyrim menu is just a transparent black and white scroll up and down menu.  Boring, and ugly, and less functional.
