I've been part of 4 BETA sessions to date and each session I play less and less as my interest becomes less and less the more I play. I've been a diehard Elder Scrolls fan since I first played Morrowind many moons ago and was introduced to the amazing ES universe, I take week vacations from work when Oblivion and Skyrim released. I was planning to do the same for ESO but I can't get over the feeling that this game is going to be nothing more than a massive King of the Hill game. I haven't seen or haven't heard of any content that would make this game enjoyable when not trying to conquer the "hill" with your faction.

Can someone please convince me ESO is more than a king of the hill game and that it is going to be much fun on many different levels. Because right now I'm struggling to want to play the game, something I never thought would be possible with ESO just 6 months ago when I thought my life would end once ESO came out.

Sigh........................

If you honestly need convincing then you shouldn't buy the game, try dark souls 2 or something of a similar title if you really like this genre.

I honestly thought the beta was a huge let down, making TES VI would of been a better investment.

It's probably already in development. I guess they are just trying to make a mmo but it will full... mostly because of the pay each month thingy ..... It works with WoW but it works with WoW only, how many more mmo have to come out and fail before people understand? It doesn't work ...... the big thing now is micro transactions, they should have bet on that instead ..

Bros i already knew this games was going to fail since the anouncement.

The gameplay is boring and repetitive.

Monthly pay is shit especially 15$ a month thats out rageous no one wants to pay that.

There isn't a single micro transaction game out that i would even give serious thought to playing. Never-winter was the first DECENT one however they made it way too pay to win. If you want steady updates like wow has provided in the past you have to have a sub fee to support constant coding. Neverwinter hasn't had SHIT for updates and they have made a TON of money i'm sure off their transactions by now. However... a TON is less than 15/month x 1million subs x 12 months. =).

The new mmos aren't failing because they are subscription based they are failing because they are being released unfinished or not enough end game content. I personally enjoyed final fantasy 14 but when i'm on the last boss in a month of release that's a SERIOUS problem. The same can be said for alot of other mmos.

Most everyone can agree that Burning Crusade was the most exciting expansion / play time for WoW. Do you think that big of a change / update would have happend if they were EVER cash shop based? Naa.

Basically these companies understand that they can make a chunk of cash for releasing a half finished game and if it tanks well they probably have sold a million copies.

Plot twist:
Micro transaction games make more money than subscription based ones.
Do your research.

Reading this article today from Elder Scrolls Online website has restored some faith. They addressed some of my biggest concerns: http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/post/2014/03/14/eso-road-ahead
