A lot of these tips are quite useful.
I've honestly done the exact opposite and lost a lot... dropped a lot of MMR, slowly trying to get passed my ego to play better but its tough to notice your faults and overcome them.

most people here except a couple that I know are actually really awful players in the 3-4k range.

Secondly I should probably add that people have a misconception about MMR, that you are going to calibrate based on the 10 calibration games. This is false. Your MMR was and always has been determined well before you can play ranked. So you may as well calibrate, and work from there. They are literally one in the same. If you are looking for EZ win heroes then that is already a bad mentality to have going into dota2. Win by learning how to outplay the team at your skill level, then learn to adapt to higher skill levels, and so on. This is how people become high MMR players. Not by spamming heroes that can have an easy impact to the game. I'm also pretty sure at least 1 of the people posting is a League of Legends player.

here is a useful subreddit that can guide you through some of the bumps in grinding low MMR: https://www.reddit.com/r/learndota2/

If you do want to spam a generic hero that is strong currently it isn't the spew someone posted on the other page. It's Morphling. And sometimes Medusa. In all honestly in game lower than Very High (which I believe is like 4k maybe high 3ks) you can get away with playing anything as long as it's played well. Things that people do not generally do in pre 5k mmr is punish the other team for greedy picks and weak lanes. Learn what this means and take advantage of it if you'd like to improve in dota2.

Sincerely,

An actual Divine5 player

Calibration doesn't matter, it is still based on your previous MMR number. Doesn't matter if you win all 10 games, you will still be in low skill level games if that is what you were before.

This new medal ranking system is just to shut up noobs who whine about MMR hell.

Minus the fact that they released what the medals mean for mmr right?

I would if it wouldn't be an absolute waste of time, I don't even know what crusader is. That's like 1k mmr? If you were even capable of winning mid versus a divine player you wouldn't be the MMR that you are. Literal waste of time, if you had more fg I'd maybe waste the 5 minutes for a price, but you don't so yeah, I respectfully decline your challenge.

Big man with 0 fg, lmao. It's around 2.2k, but saying heroes don't matter is absolutely retarded. If you're not above the enemy in skill by a mile, 80% of games is won by the draft.

I didn't say hero's don't matter. Nowhere in my post did it say that. People who are 2k mmr should have no opinion on what determines the outcome of a game, as YOU DO NOT KNOW, hence why you are 2k mmr. I have 0 fg because I don't use fg. I've never had more than 0 fg. What would I spend it on? I don't need dota items and I don't play anything else? So yeah, not sure why a 2k player, who must (if not an absolute retard) know for certain he is an awful, awful player, would challenge divine 5 players and then try to explain to them what determines to outcome of the game.

Like wow, GFG. Mind blown.
