I'm like level 7 in this game still :/
Wondering which heroes I should focus on learning first in order to play them?

Jakiro

Those 3 are supports that worth playing to learn.

Carries I could be wrong but I think wraith king and juggernaut are relatively okay to learn on.

Usually people's hero pool is quite small and they tend to play the same 5 or less heroes with the occasional other. Try different heroes and find the ones you like.

Please learn support heroes as first.
So nobody blame you for defeat in game. :)

Jakiro --> Really good, you can cover your carry easly. Also third skill helpfull while pushing.
Lion -- > Another option for you. Hin first and second skill are awesome for combat. Also 4. skill giving you easy score.(just dont steal kill :D, try to let kill to your core player)
Riki --> Easy to play. You are invisible in all time. You can disturb all other lanes easly. You should have bit experince for play
Necrophos --> Death Pulse(first skill) giving heal to you and your allies and damage to your enemies. Also third skill is really awesome (not for you enemy :D) Just carefull when you using 4. skill. Read description and learn how it deal damage.

Abaddon / Undying / Venomancer / Witch Doctor all are good heroes. Try to learn them as first.

If you play with friends or can mic with team necro is a great pick off hero. Ult escape heroes full hp and before it finishes team nukes them. I do this with sky and zeus. But you gotta be quick and check for linken

Support would be nice, but needs so much more gameknowledge than carry... also above mentioned heros.. not all of them good to learn, maiden is always great, but a support, if you are really interested in Dota try out Purge's series of learning dota with Day9

Honestly, rather than picking heroes that are easy to learn, picking heroes that are fun and enjoyable throughout the whole game makes the learning experience so much faster

Some examples of my fun heroes are:
Vengeful Spirit, spirit breaker, lycan, witch doctor
Or anything that you feel like you can enjoy yourself playing
