summoner necro was my first love in d2.. before i got the expansion.( druid is my by fav by far)
now for over 10+ years i haven't really played the build because.. well.. its *expensive*

so my question is

what *really* changed when they did some updates?
i figured since its 2.5 now the 2.4 changes would have some people who played it and now know whats best

i know the old build uses things like might and pride
and enigma..

but im curoius what a modern updated builds would look like... and if it might be worth it to run the psychical charm because it would allow amp to work at full on immunes

or maybe its better to invest in mages now?
idk im considering rebuilding a necro.. for the first time in MANY years and i don't quite have the build memorized anymore

whats the new meta build for summon/ CE?

AMP always removed physical immune. Only resistance penalty is weakend (1/5)

Mages have never been effectieve. Dmg is just too low.

You can run a summon necro naked with a decent merc and beat the game. This is IMO the cheapest, yet slowest killer out there. I always start with summon necro on ladder cause you don't need items right away.

I think trapsins are cheaper, they dont need merc or gear.

To answer your question, they buffed thorns so its worth it to use bramble on merc. Lots of people will disagree with me on this, idgaf, if you do 10 chaos runs on p1 and 10 on p8 and everything else is the same, the bramble merc shaves time off the run every time. Same with boss fights, same with ubers.
Makes sense because you got a mobile moshpit of meatshields all taking damage from melee monsters, so everytime one of them hits your guy for 100, they get hit back for 20x that damage plus 400 static damage multiplied by amp damage. Even if they only get attacked but not hit they take back 400 static damage. If the monster is fanatic aura enchanted extra strong extra fast they basically delete themselves from the game if you amp them first.

Physical sunder charm doesnt do a hell of a lot but it does help against the occasional stone skin physical immune that doesnt want to go down quickly.

Fire sunder might be interesting with corpse explode. You could put flickering flame to get resist fire aura on to counteract it and it would also make your summons basically immune to fire, but then your merc has no leech.

Instead of pride you want to run infy cus not only it lowers resist it also lowers defence which add dmg for your skells even more then pride does.

Also infy helps when you use CE as well cus lowers fire resist and lowers defence

Infy on merc
Beast on yourself
Insight on your Iron golem and you are good to go
