At ladder start I played shockwave werebear, spirit sword+ancient's pledge on main, with Kelpie Snare on swap. It was pretty obvious how many groups were struggling to get through their CBaals until everything was stunned and D or B was massively slowed. I wouldn't try to actually do damage with maul because its attack speed is so slow, but as long as you have an Insight in the group, there's pretty substantial damage from shockwave with it and maul maxed (and maxed maul is nice for the attack rating). I haven't played much HC but I don't think I died from at least like level... 70 through 89, maybe? The main thing to be aware of is how more than one of shockwave's projectiles can hit a single lightning enchant mob at the same time, so the procs go absolutely nuts. I definitely killed someone else once or twice before I realized the problem. I hired an a1 cold arrow merc with a stag bow insight, and kept the low-damage normal item type for quite a while on purpose - she never attracted aggro because she did so little damage. I found I could easily solo hell Countess with this build, with resistance gear bought from vendors. 1 point in grizzly and resummoned him and wolves as needed, don't think I bothered with ravens but the blinding is nice.
