Wtf am I doing wrong. All I hear is how tanky and unkillable this class is yet I’m dying even on players1 chaos.(not every run but enough to be a big annoyance)

Biggest Issue is the infector of souls mobs. Their inferno spell can be a quick KO for me and especially my merc. I was under the impression that as a hdin you are a telestomping god, but I find myself tip toeing around the infector and lord de seis every run. If I try to telestomp either of them, I have a good chance of dying.

Gear as follows:
Shako
Maras 26@
Enigma
Hoto 35@
Spirit targe 35fcr 40@
2x 10fcr rings with resists
War trav
Trangs gloves
Arachnid mesh
Ptorch

125fcr, 75% block with holy shield, maxed resists, 1700 life, no CTA atm.

Any help would be appreciated!

Got a 90 hdin, has no trouble at all..
you got 135fcr, maybe get a soj instead of a fcr ring other than that we got the same gear..
i got a cta tho, but that shouldt make the difference..

What gear do your merc use?

Like the other poster said, you could swap an SoJ/BK in for one ring. CTA would also help a lot

Another thing to consider is your fire res. Lower resist is cast a lot now in Chaos (and there's also conviction) which will drop your res by 60 iirc (80 for conviction?), so it might be worth stacking fire res

Example: If you have 75 fire res exactly and have lower res cast on you, you now have 15 fire res. If you have lower res cast on you and Infector has conviction you now have -65 fire res. Don't quote me on the exact numbers but it's around there

10 points into resist fire gives passiv +5% max fire res.
that also help. focus on fire and light res. cold and psn doesnt matter.

#2^^. FR and Life are easily fixed with charms or other gear.

+15 Max fire res is not easily fixed. Hotspur #1

Hot spurs fixes this problem. Aldurs is maybe ok but hot spurs best. With hot spurs you don't need to invest into resist fire for passive +0.5res/skill.

Can also run rising sun ammy which will make infectors inferno practically heal you instead of hurt you, but amulet is a pretty big slot to sacrifice for pally.

I run HC P8 CS din with 125 fcr, 86fhr BP, 14-15k hammers, 90 fire res (30 ish under conviction). Merc is 60ias armor, cham'd eth gaze (gaze for dr for de seis approach), reapers socketed with 15ias/33ed. I like holy freeze , but on paper might is better for Merc. Holy freeze + decrep really slows down mobs making tele stomps easier and more accurate. I'd say it's even more important if you're sitting around 10-12k.

Merc hits highest is bp to proc decrep fast.

Also use redemption for life/mama. In my opinion, insight is lazy route for CS din.
