So i will make a barb and im checking my options.
during checking I found that grif is so good due to damage calculation base on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDUhj6Z4-g0

I do have a second doupt regarding calculation. According the the calculation
1. base weapon damage
2. % ethereal weapon bonus
3. Enhanced damage on weapon
4. + minimum and maximum damage.
5. damage + (grief)
6. % damage (other items)

so calculation is points from 1 to 5 and multiplied by point 6.
Ok....but then why is it better then BOTD? both does not have point 5 but it does have point 2 and 3.....sooo....why is it so much better?


Now...from what I understand +damage on grief is added before other +%dmaga from other items so I thought...what if I will wear phoenix shield +350% and forti +300%. That would make a one-handed barb op?
Have anyone tried that?

Best ethereal BotD ba average damage = 355
Worst Grief pb average damage = 373

Don't go Phoenix, Firestorm interrupts attacks.

Because adding a minimum of 340 damage is insane, you need either a really really high damage base weapon or an insane amount of ED to reach that.

For 1h weapon you can't reach that amount of damage with EBotD, for 2 hand weapon you could, but you are using 2 hand and the other could use two grief to still outdps you.

For reference:

BOTD Perfect eth 15ED Berserk axe 185-545dmg
Grief Perfect 15ED Phase Blade 435-440dmg

Average

BOTD 365dmg +0%CB +0%DS
Grief 437.5dmg +0%CB +20%DS -> 525dmg

With commond build Highlord + Guillaume face + Goreriders (lvl90 +66%DS + 50%CB)

BOTD 365dmg +50%CB +66%DS -> 605.9dmg +50%CB
Grief 437.5dmg +50%CB +86%DS -> 813.75dmg +50%CB

grief - forti - stormshield is the best combo for me. phoenix is just overkill.

how about greif pb, forti and a forti pb, using frenzy, being experimenting and damm hes just plows through the monstars, firestorm is procking every 1/2 sec

dual grief or grief + SS

nothing comes close to that in PvM

If grief is best then why wouldn’t you grief + grief
