How come on all zealot and smiter builds they use either Fort or CoH?

Wouldn’t Duress be BIS for Smiter? CB, OW, added pure damage on top of resists?

Yeah I get Fort for Zeal, but even so, if you’re using Grief PB, which is BIS for damage output, wouldn’t the added damage from Duress be almost just as beneficial as the ED since PB is pretty low to begin with? Then on top of that you get the OW CB and only a little less resists? Plus 40 fhr and cold damage

Not to mention duress is exceptionally cheaper than Fort and CoH in the D2R world right now.

Opinions?

EDIT: for some reason I thought duress added pure damage not ED

Duress only has 15 CB, and you get OW from other sources. Res is not spectacular, but it's there. Fort just puts raw damage to the top, while CoH I would guess it's for res stacking for Ubers more than anything. Not a Smiter user by any means, but to me Duress is more of a fringe (more like only option) Mercenary choice to get Open Wounds outside of specific weapons or sockets.

I like a good SMoke. NefLum in a 20s armor. High DS armor will give you 800def. Great Halberk works also. The 50 all res allows you to get to max reses easy.
