Hello,

I have a PvM Amazon Bowa/Jav hybrid.

Since D2R launch, I have found Lycander's Aim, Goldstrike and Eaglehorn.
I don't know which one I should use.

So far, I hesitate the most between Goldstrike and Eaglehorn.
1 - Goldstrike, I could up it and have great damage and great ias.
2 - Eaglehorn, damage is about the same as non-upped goldstrike, no ias, but it has Ignore Target's Defense which means that... I could not care about my AR for any of my main skills (charged strike, lightning fury and strafe (for light immunes).

What do you guys think?

I do agree that goldstrike arch has good damage when upped. But eaglehorn isn't far behind, especially with higher levels, since it has max damage based on level. That's based on experience.

The ignore target's defense isn't a bad thing, but it does not work against boss monsters, champions or bosses. Also, it does not mean a guaranteed 95% chance to hit, since what it does is ignore defense, so it takes into consideration attackerlevel and defenderlevel. But if you are in the 70+ levels it would mean a very high chance to hit anyway, and not have to worry about attack rating.

It does increase attack rating vastly and is the dealbreaker for me. It is the best bow behind windfore and faith, in my opinion.

You can use guided arrow for the aforemented monster types. Or just live with having low attack rating against them ... the merc is usually essential to help out with them anyway.

Noted: I use strafe and assume you mean to use strafe here. But would probably be true for multishot too.

You can either way cast the level 23 enchant charges from demon limb, which increases attack rating a lot as well, and lasts a long time. Does require ~132 strength though.

Thanks for your input.
I was really tempted by using Eaglehorn for the Ignore Target Defense.

For bosses, I do have Lightning Fury and Charged Strike. My main intention is to run cows and maybe chaos (if I am efficient) with her.
The bow is only to wreck lightning immune monsters.

So, not having to worry about low AR is a big + I think.

thanks!

If you are going heavy on the javelin side (I assume yes since LF is just too good), I'd keep an eye out for Witchwild String. It's been a while since I played bowzon, but I recall the bow being very reliable when upped. Amp+magic arrow from the bow should allow you to snipe lightning immunes allowing you to focus on maxing LF damage. It also has 2 sockets to give you flexibility. It's also a decent bow for a strafer in its own right.

I can vouch for this, it's not a bad choice. But i have played both with upped wws and eaglehorn extensively in hell, and eaglehorn does beat it, but the +40% all res is a big loss when playing hardcore and 100% bowa. But it may be a worthwhile thing to check out for him. May though be just as cheap and simple to buy an eaglehorn instead of the hassle to upgrade wws though.

Upped wws has 95 average damage (160% ed), not including the added deadly strike % which usually result in about a 30% increase on top of the usual 60% most people land on, which is a good increase.

Eaglehorn has 148 average damage.

But if using the level 20 magic arrows on wws, that also means that 20% of total physical damage is converted to magic, which is not reduced by any physical resistance, which cows have 50% of. The +20 added damage i think is not multiplied by ed%, but would be multiplied by any auras... i think.

But, even with all that, i do still think that using level 1 guided arrow with eaglehorn may be better for lightning immunes, since attack rating most likely is not a priority being mainly a javazon, which would mean at least a 30-40% reduced damage with either multishot or strafe. Having every arrow hit (if not blocked) is a big advantage.
